This position reports to our Parts Manager and is responsible for assisting customers and technicians in acquiring the correct part for all repair needs. This position will perform the dual role of assisting customers at the parts counter (either over phone, via email, or in-person) and performing warehouse duties, such as the off-loading, stocking, picking and staging of equipment and parts while providing professional quality customer service to all internal and external customers. This is a commission-based position.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously, and assist them in identifying and selecting the appropriate parts for their vehicles.

  • Provide accurate pricing and availability information to customers, including any applicable discounts or promotions.
  • Process parts orders and transactions efficiently and accurately, including invoicing, payment processing, and order fulfillment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts department, including stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and managing back-stock.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, including conducting regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ordering replenishments as needed.
  • Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of parts orders for service department repairs and maintenance.
  • Follow dealership and manufacturer guidelines and procedures for warranty parts returns, ensuring compliance with quality and documentation requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the parts purchasing process, addressing any inquiries, concerns, or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Locating available parts when the dealership is out of stock.
  • Packaging and shipping parts back to the manufacturer from time to time, and completing the appropriate record keeping.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in automotive parts management or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a parts advisor or in a similar role, preferably in an automotive dealership or parts retail environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems, with the ability to accurately identify parts based on vehicle specifications.
  • Proficiency in using parts cataloging systems and resources, as well as computerized point-of-sale systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

If you are a customer-focused individual with strong automotive parts knowledge and a passion for delivering exceptional service, we invite you to apply for the Parts Advisor position at our dealership.
