Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and Washing:

    • Thoroughly clean the exterior and interior of boats using appropriate tools and cleaning solutions.

    • Wash, rinse, and dry boat surfaces to remove dirt, grime, and saltwater residue.

  • Detailing:

    • Perform detailed cleaning tasks such as waxing, polishing, and buffing to restore and protect boat surfaces.

    • Clean and detail boat accessories and hardware, like railings, windows, and decks.

  • Interior Maintenance:

    • Vacuum and clean boat interiors, including cabins, cockpits, and other compartments.

    • Clean and maintain interior boat upholstery and carpets.

  • Equipment Use and Maintenance:

    • Operate various cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, vacuums, and polishers safely and efficiently.

    • Maintain and ensure proper functioning of all cleaning equipment.

  • Chemical Handling:

    • Use and handle cleaning chemicals and agents safely, following all safety guidelines and regulations.

    • Be knowledgeable about eco-friendly cleaning options and best practices to minimize environmental impact.

  • Quality Control:

    • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure cleaning and detailing meet high-quality standards.

    • Address any customer concerns or specific requests regarding cleaning and maintenance.

  • Safety Compliance:

    • Adhere to all safety regulations, especially when working near or on the water.

    • Ensure a safe working environment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

 

Technical and physical requirements

Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Cleaning Products and Chemicals: Understanding the proper use of various cleaning agents, including those that are eco-friendly and suitable for different boat materials like fiberglass, wood, or metal.

  • Familiarity with Boat Anatomy and Materials: Knowing different parts of a boat and the materials they are made from is crucial to ensure proper cleaning without causing damage.

  • Detailing Techniques: Skills in detailing are important for tasks like waxing, polishing, and buffing to restore and protect the boat's surfaces.

  • Equipment Operation: Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, vacuums, polishers, and other specialized tools.

  • Water Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of water safety and potentially boat handling, especially if cleaning is done on the water.

Physical Requirements:

  • Strength and Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds, and sustain physical activity for extended periods, including standing, bending, and stretching.

  • Manual Dexterity: Skilled hand-eye coordination for detailed work like buffing and polishing.

  • Comfort Working in Various Weather Conditions: Since the job involves working outdoors, one must be prepared to work in different weather conditions.

  • Mobility and Balance: Good balance and mobility are essential, especially when working on potentially slippery surfaces or in moving conditions on the water.

  • Endurance: Ability to work long hours, often in a physically demanding setting.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience in boat cleaning is required – we provide comprehensive training.

  • Must possess reliable personal transportation.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for 6-8 hours.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • A valid form of identification and legal eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Candidates must have a clean criminal record with no felony convictions.
