Who We’re Looking For:

The Director of Global Events, reporting to the Sr Director, Global Strategy and Communications, is responsible for leading the strategy, planning and successful execution of our events. The successful candidate will serve as a key Member of our leadership team and should bring a proven track record in managing best-in-class event programs of varying scale and scope. This role will drive cross-functional collaboration and communicate priorities and deadlines to key stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering an exceptional and profitable event experience for our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and other stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own, develop, and execute a comprehensive event strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Design attendee experience, including destination, theme, layout, content, programming, branding, entertainment, technology and production, F&B, and service, to create lasting positive brand impression.
  • Manage a team of event professionals and oversee all aspects of event planning, execution, and post-event performance and analysis against goals/KPIs.
  • Identify and negotiate partnerships with venues, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage event budgets to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and other teams to ensure events are integrated with broader business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and recommend new approaches to improve event experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in event planning, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with setting event ROI metrics, continuous measurement and delivering to plan
  • Demonstrated financial management skills.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful and profitable event strategies for a range of event types and sizes, from 100 to 5,000+ attendees.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with the ability to balance multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Up to 25% travel; must be willing to travel internationally.
  • Global event management experience in US, Europe and/or APAC is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or related field preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
