We partner with enthusiastic Program Facilitators who have a passion for youth empowerment and personal growth. We are seeking passionate and experienced facilitators to join our afterschool programming team.

Our programs are delivered in 16-week sessions from August through June.

POSITION DETAILS

Our Program Facilitator is a part-time, contractor position with dynamic scheduling centered around after-school programming at sites across Metro Detroit.

 

NOTE: Applicants must be local to Metro Detroit to be considered for this position which requires frequent, regional travel and reliable transportation.

 

CONTRACTOR COMPENSATION:

  • $75 per workshop

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (tasks associated with the role)

  • Facilitate group discussion and manage classrooms of up to 35 participants, effectively for youth ages 7-17

  • Arrive punctually and prepare for session set-up

  • Prepare thoroughly for each class session, including curriculum review and material preparation

  • Deliver the IMAGINE curriculum professionally and effectively to meet learning objectives

  • Maintain a positive mental attitude and create a safe, welcoming environment

  • Relate to students without judgment, fostering open communication

  • Communicate regularly with school liaisons, including concerns about students who may need additional support services

  • Provide meaningful and timely feedback to ICS leadership team, school and organization leadership as needed

  • Ensure snacks are available during each session - provided by program

  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate program needs

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Age 21+

  • 2+ years experience working with youth ages 7-17

  • Strong grasp on youth development principles

  • Ability to collaborate with parents and school officials

  • Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills

  • Group facilitation/classroom management expertise

  • Excellent communication across diverse audiences

  • Consistent follow-through

  • Keen conflict resolution skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills
