Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with customers and shipping/freight forwarding companies to secure cost-effective and timely delivery of products, covering both exports and imports.

2. Manage all aspects of importing and exporting products, including computing duties, tariffs, price conversions, and prepare essential documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and consular documents.

3. Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and costs with shipping companies and freight forwarders.

4. Facilitate communication across internal departments to meet and exceed customer expectations.

5. Assist sales and marketing by negotiating freight rates to enhance competitive quoting and secure sales.

6. Address shipping and freight discrepancies with both domestic and international customers.

7. Prepare and process shipment paperwork for invoicing.

8. Handle negotiations and record in the MAGAYA system.

9. Process orders for equipment, accessories, fluids, or backordered items in QuickBooks.

10. Manage and follow up on shipment change orders, including authorizing returns.

 

Qualifications:

1. A bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant field, supplemented by 1-3 years of experience in import/export traffic or shipping.

2. Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, import/export documentation, trade regulations, and customs procedures. Preferred, but not mandatory.

3. Demonstrated negotiation skills with freight forwarders and trucking companies. Preferred, but not mandatory.

4. Familiarity with financial terms and conditions for domestic and international shipments.

5. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.

6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to employ assertiveness and diplomacy effectively.

7. Proficient with computers, especially MAGAYA or similar cargo systems and Microsoft Excel.

8. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment.

9. Experience with shipping procedures and material handling.

 

Salary and Benefits:

· Starting salary: $18-20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

· Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

· Benefits include:

· Complementary basic medical insurance.

· Standard workers' compensation.

· Annual bonus based on sales results, overall revenue, and KPI performance, typically 1.0 to 1.5 times your base monthly salary.

· Vacation accrues at the rate of one day per month, increasing with tenure. Must complete a full calendar year to utilize accrued days. Vacation dates to be agreed upon with management.

· Potential salary review at the end of each calendar year based on sales results, KPI compliance, and annual evaluation.
