Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Specialist with a strong background in vehicle engineering, particularly in body-in-white or chassis development. This role is critical to ensuring the highest quality standards for our new product launches. As a Quality Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing and enhancing quality systems within our supply base and ensuring that our manufacturing processes and components meet rigorous standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•\tOn-Site Supplier Support: Provide comprehensive support at supplier facilities to ensure they are ready for launch and remain compliant post-launch.
•\tCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Powertrain Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams to select capable suppliers and ensure robust manufacturing processes.
•\tProblem Resolution: Lead initiatives to address component issues, driving improvements in plant manufacturing and supplier processes.
•\tQuality Milestone Management: Oversee and drive problem-solving activities, managing key quality milestones for components.
•\tTravel: Up to 20% travel required to supplier sites and other facilities in the U.S., Canada, and potentially Mexico.
Required Qualifications:
•\tEducation: Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
•\tCertifications: Reactive Black Belt and Green Belt training, with completed projects.
•\tExperience: Minimum of 5 years in Powertrain Manufacturing or Engineering, with at least 3 years in Powertrain Quality.
•\tTechnical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Engines & Driveline components, FCA Quality, and Supplier Operations.
•\tProblem Solving: Strong background in structured problem solving and root cause analysis.
•\tPhysical Requirements: Ability to stand and be on your feet for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
•\tCertifications: Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
•\tExperience: Proven experience launching engine programs and in manufacturing, design release, or supplier quality roles.
•\tExpertise: Knowledge of engines, transmissions, and driveline components.
•\tOrganizational Skills: Experience working in a lean or flat organization with cross-functional skills, able to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects effectively.
•\tLeadership: Ability to lead without direct authority, demonstrate strong communication skills, and build both internal and external partnerships.
•\tProcess Adherence: Experience with ISO/TS16949 and APQP processes for engine manufacturing.
•\tAttributes: High energy, hands-on approach, strong leadership presence, risk-taking, ambition, and impeccable integrity.
