This is a hands-on clinical position with responsibility for oversight of the daily operations and general management of two physician’s clinical practice. This position serves in a supervisory capacity overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinic and clinic support staff of our Austin Clinics.

This position will require travel between the three clinics.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Interaction with administrative and clinical staff to ensure maximum utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services.
  • Oversees the day-to-day clinic activities and schedule in an effort to reduce patient wait times and reduce overtime expenses.
  • Assists physician to ensure clinic runs smoothly and on time.
  • Coordinates scheduling of patient's tests, ensuring follow-up appointments with physician are scheduled.
  • Documents patient phone calls, prescription refill messages, and obtains physician signature.
  • Manages clinical risk issues for patients/physician.
  • Ensures patient phone calls are retrieved and returned in a timely manner.
  • Supervises other clinical support members of the physician’s team, including delegating of responsibilities to assure efficient delivery of services.
  • Addresses concerns and/or complaints from patients, vendors, and staff members; escalates to the VP, Operations as needed.
  • Analyzes average patient wait times and makes recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Communicates with staff and physician on a regular basis to ensure quality of service and needs by the physician and patients are successfully met.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and reports any issues to the VP, Operations as they arise.
  • Coordinates with the Vice President of Operations and Human Resources regarding employee performance and employee relations issues.
  • Responsible for administering support staff performance counseling upon consultation with Human Resources.
  • Conducts support staff performance evaluations, in collaboration with physician.
  • Approves team member’s time sheets, minimizes overtime in an effort to control expenses

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Medical Assistant Certification (i.e. CMA through AAMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA) (REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2+ years clinical experience with supervisory responsibility.

SKILLS:

  • Must have clinical knowledge. Must be familiar with automated practice management systems and with health insurance requirements as it relates to medical reimbursement (i.e., deductibles, co-pays, etc.).

ABILITIES:

  • Must demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication skills. Excellent planning, organization and managements skills. Ability to multi-task, works in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrates team cooperation is required.
  • Must be willing to travel between three clinics part of normal duties.
