Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid onsite 1 – 2 days/week, especially at the beginning, will discuss further if offered the position)
Work hours: M-F 9am-5pm
Duration: 3 months contract + possible extensions
Parking: Provided by the company


Must-haves:
1. Experience with large-scale HCAi construction projects and proven competency in managing complex project controls.
2. 8+ years of experience in construction management or financial administration, with increasing leadership/management responsibility.
3. Proficiency in project management software like Procore, Honest Building, or eBuilder.
4. Bachelor’s degree in financial/business administration, construction management, or a related field.
5. Strong leadership and communication skills, with a record of driving results and implementing organizational improvements in a healthcare environment.

Nice to Have:
1. Master’s degree in financial/business administration, construction management, or a related field.
2. Professional certifications relevant to cost management, schedule management, and project management (e.g., CPD, PgMP, PfMP, PRINCE2).
3. Experience with Bluebeam or similar tools.
4. Experience with vendor management and developing performance metrics.
5. Change leadership and innovation capabilities that align with healthcare organizational goals.

Required Levels of Experience and Education:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 4 years of management/director-level experience may substitute for a Master’s degree.
- Experience: 8 years in construction management or financial administration with increasing leadership/management responsibility.

Job Summary:
The Director of Project Controls plays a strategic leadership role within the System Design and Construction department. This position involves significant decision-making authority regarding staffing, budgeting, and project controls for large-scale construction projects, particularly in the healthcare sector. The Director is responsible for developing and overseeing cost control procedures and managing all phases of project controls, including the implementation and integration of project management software (Procore). The role also includes overseeing project contracting, cost management, change control, document control, and progress reporting. The Director collaborates closely with Health System Finance leadership to ensure alignment with the organization's financial goals.
