Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Management Specialist to join our team at Project Support Services. As a key member of our project controls team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor project budgets and forecasts to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Provide quality assurance on financial tracking and cost performance, identifying trends and mitigating budget impacts.
  • Analyze cost variances and review monthly cost reports and progress reports to inform project decisions.
  • Evaluate contract change orders and amendments, ensuring compliance with financial procedures and policies.
  • Interact with technical leads to address budget-related issues and implement BuildLACCD policies and procedures for cost management.
  • Present data to management in an organized manner, providing insights to inform project decisions.
  • Respond to requests for financial information from College staff and travel to project locations as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in program and/or project controls in construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • Experience working through the entire project life cycle.
  • Knowledge of cost/schedule management, earned value management, change management, forecasting, and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Proliance, Data-Warehouse, or similar systems preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
