The Regional Sales Manager is an energetic, persuasive, solution-focused, entrepreneurial sales professional that will be responsible for the sale of Stuppy Greenhouse Solutions & Services to targeted prospects throughout the Northwest territory and specified geographies or vertical markets nationwide.  The RSM will execute the entire sales process to both existing customers and new prospective customers; will provide after-sale support and customer service obligations; and will as well as to interface and collaborate with internal Stuppy departments to ensure the execution of the delivery and installation process.

 

Essential Functions

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales objectives and both annual and quarterly revenue quotas by contacting potential & existing customers via phone, email, and in-person (cold/warm calls, trade shows, etc.) in the commercial and educational markets, initiating and completing the entire sales process including contacting prospects, scheduling appointments, understanding business needs, qualifying opportunities, making presentations, developing solutions and proposals, forecasting, and overcoming objections to close the sale.
  • Engaging target prospects, using business acumen and consultative skills to identify business issues and position Stuppy to solve said issues where the use of innovative greenhouse solutions enhances their business.
  • Responsible for hunting for new business through research and client access
  • Learn and articulate the Stuppy Greenhouse value proposition to prospects and clients
  • Develop strong, ongoing relationships by demonstrating Stuppy’s value and achieving high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Create quotes, proposals, and draft specifications to establish all product requirements and needs for the customers.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations to customers.
  • Determine the value of prospective sales and meet gross sales and gross margin goals.
  • Enter and maintain sales data, communication stages, and opportunity status within the CRM system weekly.
  • Partner with internal departments to prepare proposals and transfer new orders into operations.
  • Assist project managers and customer support to ensure the delivery, movement and installation of products and services.
  • Develop strong, ongoing relationships by demonstrating Stuppy’s value and achieving high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • 5-7 years of business development experience with personal production responsibility preferably in greenhouse sales, horticulture, or technical sales.
  • Successful record of managing a multi-million-dollar sales funnel with average deals valuing $50k - $200k and up to $1,000,000.
  • BS degree in business, engineering, or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the sales process (i.e.. Sandler, Miller Heiman, etc.) while maintaining a high level of integrity pertaining to all Stuppy processes and values.
  • Utilizing value-based selling methodology to manage sales processes and accurately forecast business.
  • Familiarity with territory preferred, ability to evaluate possible market share, territory profit, and selling opportunities.
  • Intermediate math skills, with the ability to read construction plans, bid specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with prospects and customers.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office modules.
  • Exceptional skills in the following: communication, presentation skills, negotiation, closing, organization, teamwork, and following a structured sales process.
  • Clear sense of integrity, work ethic, and a sincere interest in building strong relationships based upon competency and trust.
