Business Development Manager – Vehicle Engineering

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to expand our capabilities in vehicle engineering. This role focuses on fostering relationships with OEMs and Tier 1 customers, enhancing our presence in the automotive industry. Candidates with a passion for vehicle attribute optimization, including energy management, thermal management, NVH, and vehicle dynamics, are ideal for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the business development efforts, interacting with major automotive industry players to advance full vehicle engineering projects.
  • Manage sales and profitability by delivering tailored engineering solutions, including BiW (body-in-white), chassis development, and vehicle design integration.
  • Drive technology adoption and develop strategic customer accounts to secure and expand future business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong, influential partnerships at all organizational levels, particularly focusing on key decision makers in engineering and purchasing.
  • Align business strategies with customer roadmaps, ensuring they complement our company objectives.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the automotive sector.
  • Implement and oversee effective sales strategies and hold responsibility for achieving key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to meet complex customer requirements and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, congresses, and industry exhibitions, enhancing business development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required; a Business degree may be considered with proven technical competence in vehicle engineering.
  • Preferred 2-5 years of experience in business development or sales within the automotive industry, especially with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential.
  • Previous experience in vehicle engineering services, especially with startups or Tier 1 automotive suppliers, is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed technical presentations and deliver comprehensive solutions to client challenges.
  • Must be able to operate independently in a matrixed organization and have prior exposure to body-in-white design, chassis development, or vehicle attribute development.
