A well-established Japanese company in the restaurant/hospitality industry seeks a HR Assistant Manager to help manage human resources, payroll, and administration.

  • $ 66,560 per year, exempt

 

Requirements of the HR Assistant Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of human resources management experience
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Dependable and able to manage confidential information
  • Bilingual skills in Japanese and English are desired

 

Responsibilities of the HR Assistant Manager:

  • Record, file, and update employee information
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and background check processes
  • Conduct new employee orientation
  • Respond to employees’ inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
  • Administer benefits programs (i.e. life, health, dental, disability, leave of absence)
  • Investigate accidents and prepare reports for insurance carrier
  • Advise management on hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, etc.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policies
  • Conduct an annual employee satisfaction survey, analyze results, and propose improvement plans to management
  • Provide guidance on complex or sensitive questions and issues
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Collect, input, and update payroll records for accurate weekly and bi-weekly payroll
  • Review wages computed and correct errors
  • Prepare manual checks as necessary
  • Various office administrative tasks as required
  • Arrange travel arrangements for personnel or corporate guests when necessary
  • Update employee safety manual and conduct safety training
  • Support improvements on risk management issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
