Purchasing Manager job description:

The Purchasing Manager will lead a team of purchasers, each responsible for specific categories. He is responsible to oversee, guide, and implement effective systems to ensure a seamless procurement process. Additionally, the manager develops purchasing strategies, supervises daily sourcing activities, maintains positive supplier relationships, and coordinates with internal teams to meet supply needs. Managing contracts is also a key responsibility, including administration, negotiation, review, renewal, filing, and evaluation based on product availability, price, terms, and quality.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Vendor Management

● Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.

● Managing the negotiation of contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

 

Strategic Sourcing

● Managing the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize costs and improve overall procurement efficiency.

● Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and new technologies to contribute to innovation in procurement processes

 

Cost Management

● Lead the analysis of pricing proposals, evaluate supplier performance, and conduct negotiations to achieve cost savings.

● Drive the implementation of cost control measures and strategies to maximize the organization's purchasing power

 

Quality Assurance

● Collaborate with relevant departments to establish and enforce quality standards for purchased goods and services.

● Lead regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements..

 

Inventory Management

● Oversee the monitoring of inventory levels and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize stock levels, minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.

● Lead the implementation of efficient inventory tracking systems to enhance visibility and control

 

Compliance and Risk Management

● Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

● Identify and address potential risks related to the supply chain and purchasing processes.

 

Leading a Team of Buyers or Purchasers

● Leading a team of buyers or purchasers, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure efficient procurement processes and achievement of departmental goals.

 

In addition to key responsibilities, the position holder is expected to;

● Collaborate with purchasing, sales, operations, and customer service teams.

● Determine key purchasing team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

● Identify and address process bottlenecks in a timely manner.

● Provide constructive feedback to team members.

● Determine the best vendors and distributors based on product category, and build and maintain good relationships with them.

● Ensure that any changes related to Kashrut agency are subject to approval from the purchasing department
