The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking an energetic, self-starting individual to fill our full-time Supported Employment Specialist role.  

This hybrid position is composed of two different grants that assist community individuals with employment, education, and financial literacy.  The Supported Employment Specialist will work directly with 1.) transitional age youth who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis who are interested in vocational activities, employment, and education; and 2.) Dress for Success clients who are securing work and need assistance with appropriate attire.  

Position Details:

  • All tasks must be managed while following specific time-related grant requirements.
  • Candidate will need to provide guidance and support to all program participants with obtaining their goals and assist with eliminating significant barriers.
  • Should be familiar with Supported Employment/Supported Education practices, social service resources, area employers, job development, workforce development, community outreach, and wrap around services.

  • Respect, accountability, and inclusivity
  • Self-determination, motivation, and initiative
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to apply basic skills for effective written and verbal communication
  • Effective computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years proven success in human services, social work, or employment readiness.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • ACRE certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Personal vehicle and proof of insurance (mileage reimbursed).
  • FBI, Child Abuse, and State Police Clearances.
