Job Summary:

The Associate Staff Accountant will support the finance department by performing various accounting tasks, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented setting. Prior experience with QuickBooks Desktop/Enterprise in an accounting role is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and reports.
  • Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations and assist in maintaining the general ledger.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Support payroll processing and related accounting tasks.
  • Help prepare and review financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Prior experience with QuickBooks Desktop/Enterprise in an accounting role is required.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
  • Heavily versed in MS Excel including the use of pivot tables.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills – experience with data visualizers like Tableau, Power BI, Cliqview or similar is desired.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
