Ramp Service Agents are responsible for providing ground support for inbound and outbound aircraft, including baggage handling, mail and freight handling, aircraft servicing, driving motorized equipment, and cleaning of aircraft interiors.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedule personnel daily and furnish a copy to Department Manager
  • Monitor employee activity and makes adjustments as needed
  • Make sure employees follow all regulations/procedures
  • Check-In/Out sheets to insure all employees have logged in correctly
  • Interacts with fellow employees courteously and tactfully
  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees and client representatives
  • Make recommendations to Department Manager regarding personnel performance
  • Communicate safety hazards and equipment problems to Department Manager or General Manager; report inquiries and other major incidents to Department Managers
  • Make sure state licenses and training records are current
  • On call 24 hours per day
  • Respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and passengers courteously
  • Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain the cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs
  • Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and the public in a courteous manner
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required
  • Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports, and files as required
  • Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials. Identification badges must always be visible
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in the achievement of company objectives
  • Utilize company and client equipment, supplies, and resources in a conscientious, cost-effective manner
  • Perform quality assurance service audits to conform to the client’s specifications and procedure; perform other duties as requested

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Airline or Contracted Airline Services experience, preferably Ramp, Bag room, or Ops.
  • Mathematical problem-solving skills
  • Verbal and written communications skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a telephone
  • Must have reliable transportation

PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)
  • Treat all information as confidential
  • Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees, and the public.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and bend throughout shift
  • Must be willing and able to work in various climatic conditions, including extreme heat and cold (over 100 to below 0), high winds, rain, ice, and snow
  • Must be willing and able to cope with non-routine situations, including, but not limited to, early/late flights, weather and mechanical delays, passenger assistance, and accommodation/re-accommodation
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • 7. Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Must be able to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • Must meet requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge
  • Must be able to direct in English verbally
  • Be able to resolve problem situations with passengers when necessary

 

Please note: We conduct pre-employment drug screens, and all candidates must meet the requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge. In addition, you must have a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record with no DUI’S/DWI’S in the last three years and no moving violations/tickets in the previous 12 months).
