Essentially, this contract employee will have draws the clinic's phlebotomists did and this individual will need to fill in all the blanks that were not filled in to get it billed to correct physician's office.

  3. Insurance Verification: Verify patients' insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to services being rendered.

  4. Billing Review: Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements.

  5. Follow-Up: Monitor outstanding claims and follow up with insurance companies and patients to resolve issues and facilitate payment.

  6. Appeals: Prepare and submit appeals for denied or underpaid claims, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence.

  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of billing and payment activities, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  8. Communication: Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing inquiries and disputes in a professional and timely manner.

  9. Continuing Education: Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Requirements:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in medical billing and coding preferred.

  2. Experience: Previous experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration preferred.

  3. Knowledge: Proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT), and billing software (e.g., Epic, Meditech). Familiarity with insurance claim processing and reimbursement practices.

  4. Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  5. Certification: Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) is a plus.
