Overview of the Accounts Receivable Specialist Role:
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist with billing experience, you will be essential in managing accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate billing, and utilizing advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data. Your role will also involve delivering exceptional customer service and managing client interactions. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the accounts receivable process for government contracts, including generating and issuing invoices, tracking payments, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Leveraging advanced Excel skills, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP, to analyze accounts receivable data, monitor cash flow, and create detailed financial reports.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Providing outstanding customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving billing issues, and ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
- Collaborating with the finance team to streamline accounts receivable processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Supporting audits and addressing any discrepancies or issues related to accounts receivable.
Preferred Qualifications for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:
- Proven experience in accounts receivable with a solid background in billing, ideally within a tech company or government contracting environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience is highly valued.
