Oswego Creative, Inc., a 37-year corporate video communications firm and production house based in Lakewood, Colorado, seeks an experienced, creative, and collaborative full-time Director of Photography to join our team.

The Director of Photography's responsibilities will include:

  • Leading in-house and contracted cinematographers in executing professional-grade cinematography for the production projects mandated by our clients. This includes leading by example, as the position also requires the DP to work behind the camera on individual projects.

  • Manage adequate prep specific to all projects, managing schedule, assigning crew, collaborating with others as secondary input on projects not directly assigned, and maintaining an efficient cinematography department based on self-driven initiative.

  • Own the visual execution of a project through collaboration with the lead producer and post team when applicable.

  • Highly organized and a flexible, open approach to work and collaboration with a creative spirit and a positive attitude, which can elevate the collective goals of the company by bringing a unique skill set corresponding to the level of a seasoned professional

  • Communicative, with a straightforward approach to understanding the producer’s vision and being able to deliver that vision through your expertise as a cinematographer both from creative and technical standpoints.

  • Carrying an up-to-date ‘knowledge of the craft’ including new techniques / stylistic additions as well as what is needed, from a software and gear perspective, to execute on a project-to-project basis

  • Work with team members in a way that constructive criticism/recognition makes them better.

  • Look for opportunities to improve our bottom line (process, new business, etc.).

Projects may be one-off executions or part of an ongoing series of feature stories for long-time clients where consistency of look and feel is critical. We are looking for a highly collaborative individual who enjoys new challenges and is passionate about storytelling and video production.

The ideal candidate will bring a fresh eye to Oswego Creative’s diverse projects and keep it at the forefront of video production.

The ability to travel consistently, and sometimes at a moment’s notice, is a non-negotiable requirement.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of industry experience.

  • Experience working in a variety of different environments, in-studio and on-location; being able to think quickly and act decisively

  • Be able to manage lighting and sound as a part of the company's established crew structures.

Primarily, the applicant would report directly to the Director of Production and indirectly to the President.

This is a salaried position with health benefits and a 401 (k) plan. The salary will be determined based on industry experience.
