Security Program Administrator

This position is part of the U.S. Department of the Interior's Human Resources Directorate, responsible for administering the National Security Program. The incumbent will oversee the preparation and processing of background investigation paperwork for employees in positions of National Security assigned to the Department or client organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in all aspects of the National Security Program, including the preparation and processing of background investigation paperwork utilizing eQIP and the USAccess system.
- Respond to problems or questions regarding security forms, paperwork, and processes associated with initiating background investigations.
- Review and ensure completeness of eQIP forms and requests for Personnel Security packages submitted for National Security positions.
- Apply Department of the Interior, Office of Personnel Management, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, and Office of the Director of National Intelligence security standards to ensure background investigation packages are complete.
- Prepare National Security Clearance Grant Letters, input data into appropriate databases and electronic systems, and create electronic security files for positions of National Security.
- Submit the monthly Continuous Evaluation (CE) report to the DOI, Office of Law Enforcement and Security for all employees occupying sensitive positions.
- Review the National Security Clearance Batch File for accuracy and submit the file to OPM on a monthly basis to ensure National Security Clearances are re-validated in OPM's PIPS/CVS System.
- Review and complete Adjudicative Worksheets (AWS) for no-issue case files and make adjudicative recommendations to the Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist or designated trainer/second-level reviewer.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation.
- Direct Deposit of pay is required.
- Selective Service registration required for male applicants, unless exempt.
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level, including experience in independently determining the level of and initiation of background investigations for National Security designated positions, reviewing background investigation paperwork for National Security positions, interpreting security policies and procedures, and preparing documentation for National Security Clearances.
