Implementation and support of code management and observability tools supporting DevOps practices in the enterprise. Individual will take part in efforts to automate common requests, develop self-service capabilities in all our tools and partner with our 24x7 support teams to take on after-hours support. They will also be expected to be on-call on a rotational basis, monitor chat channels and resolve incident tickets. 

Standard Skill Expectations for this role/team: 
Successful Members of the DevOps Platform Team are full-stack engineers who have proven knowledge in all stages of software development; building enterprise-class software applications from front-end to back-end across multiple technology layers including: Front End Development, API Design and DevOps functions while also including infrastructure server/ configuration automation. 
Recommended skill areas include : 
•Development: 
–Thorough knowledge of and experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in both waterfall and Agile environments. 
–Architecture, design, implementation, and testing of UI, services, and backend components and databases. 
–Experience with common integrated development environments (IDEs) like intelliJ, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, etc. 
–Proven experience and knowledge for the following, but not limited to dynamic server coding environments such as Python, Ruby, Angular or Node.js and developing REST APIs. 
–Working knowledge of HTTP, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, WebSocket, NoSQL database systems (Mongo, Cassandra, HBase, BigTable, Redis); Production experience creating a NoSQL schema and managing scaled access to a NoSQL data store. 
•Infrastructure: 
–Confident in Linux\Windows OS administration including secure configuration, patching, and troubleshooting, shell scripting. 
–Proficiency with cloud hosting solutions with a bias towards AWS, its native tools and other utilities designed specifically to operate on the AWS platform. 
–Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet or Chef. 
–Interest in emerging platform-as-a-service / distributed application frameworks such as Cloud Foundry, Spring, ElasticBeanstalk and Docker. 
–Experience with enterprise class application performance management tools like New Relic and performance testing tools like StormRunner and BlazeMeter specifically as they are used to create feedback loops and quality control in the Software Development Lifecycle. 
•General: 
–Passionate about Devops principals, continuous improvement, amplified feedback loops, rapid experimentation and A3 problem solving. 
–Presenter at internal and external conferences like re:invent and TechCon. Builds and administers teaching Thursdays and other group training sessions. 
–Authors white papers, knowledge entries, job tools, etc. in their area of expertise for both internal and external audiences 
–Bachelor's Degree or applicable work experience plus 6-9 years of experience in a software engineering and development role
