Role Overview:

The role of the DevOps Engineer is vital within our agile cloud product development team. This position emphasizes the automated continuous deployment of application code, alongside the operational and security oversight of the AWS platform. The DevOps Engineer acts as a bridge between development teams, corporate IT, and external cloud service providers, ensuring deployment efficiency, security, and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate automated deployment processes and maintain operational security.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 5 years in a DevOps environment or Unix System Administration.
  • Proficiency with cloud service providers, particularly AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools and source control management.
  • Strong scripting skills, particularly in Python.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies, especially Docker.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certification is highly desirable, including AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS DevOps Engineer.
  • Knowledge of best practices in DevOps related to software lifecycle management.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Bamboo, Git/Bitbucket, and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with AWS technologies including Cloud Formation, EC2, and S3.
  • Understanding of Linux administration and bash scripting.
  • Ability to work with databases and an understanding of database administration.
  • Experience in implementing security measures in application solutions.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and project leadership experience.
