About this role:

Cognira is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Manager/Director of Quality Assurance to lead our QA team and drive the development of high-quality enterprise software products that meet the needs of our customers and contribute to our company's growth. 


As the Senior Manager/Director of QA, you will be responsible for defining QA strategies, prioritizing the QA backlog, working closely with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Your role will be critical in driving QA strategy, roadmap planning, and enhancing the overall quality of our products.


We are open to candidates to join us from our headquarters in Atlanta GA, or our office in Portugal


What you will do:

  • QA Vision: Collaborate with senior leadership to define and communicate a clear QA vision that aligns with the company's strategic goals.
  • Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the QA backlog, ensuring that it is well-organized and aligned with strategic objectives. Make data-driven decisions about what testing frameworks or enhancements to prioritize.
  • Test Plan Definition: Create detailed test plans, acceptance criteria, and specifications that guide development and QA teams in ensuring the quality of the product.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the QA team and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on QA goals and progress.
  • Release Planning: Plan and coordinate product releases, working closely with development, QA, and other teams to ensure timely and successful product launches.
  • Quality Assurance: Define acceptance criteria and work with QA teams to ensure the delivered product meets the defined standards of quality.
  • Product Testing: Participate in product testing and validation to ensure the product meets user expectations and business requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the QA process by identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency.


What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
  • Proven experience as a QA Leader or similar role in Agile software development environments, particularly within enterprise software and SaaS.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with QA methodologies and tools, particularly in enterprise software and SaaS environments.
  • Experience in manual and automated testing for application / UI and backend /data pipelines type processes.
  • Experience in software development, automated testing strategies, and tools is a plus.
  • Experience in grocery, promotion planning, vendor funding, and/or retail technology implementation consulting is a plus.
