Job Summary:
As an ON-SITE, in-house Travel Coordinator, responsible for arranging travel for employees, guests, and other stakeholders. Ensure professional, accurate, and cost-effective travel arrangements in line with Xyz travel guidelines and policies. Committed to customer service, accuracy, and self-reliance, with strong experience in group travel and SABRE.
Pay: $30-$35/hr
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the company’s travel needs according to policy.
- Schedule flights, hotels, and car accommodations for employees.
- Research travel options (airfares, times, routings) and suggest alternatives for management approval in compliance with travel policies
- Resolve traveler inquiries (complaints, accounting issues, fare discrepancies, vendor issues, hotel no-shows).
- Manage compliance with company travel and expense policies; report out-of-policy requests.
- Arrange travel for large company-sponsored functions such as trade shows and training events.
- Maintain travel-related files, databases, and information.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and friendly service to employees.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to the travel program for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Educate employees on reducing travel expenses.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three or more years of experience in a fast-paced corporate travel or travel agency environment, handling domestic and international travel arrangements.
- Must have experience using SABRE for booking.,
- Knowledge of ARC (Airline Reporting Corporation) policies and procedures for refunds, voids, EVT (Electronic Travel Voucher), and exchanges.
- Understanding of Interline Agreements and IATA (International Air Transport Association) codes, international tariff rules, and international split ticketing.
- Experience with online booking tools such as Concur.
- Demonstrated success in process improvements and cost reduction.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple travel requests and transactions.
- Excellent communication, time management, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with various levels of management and employees.
- Results-oriented with a positive attitude and sense of urgency.
- Self-starter with minimal need for support or direction.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
