Duties: You will be responsible for: (1) Acting as a HR generalist manager in a small Human Resources department of a stable, successful organization that is focused on helping people and their families be healthy, safe, happy, and secure; (2) Owning and leading all Human Resource functions to include employee health, wellness, retirement plans, medical/dental plans, disability, workers’ compensation, FMLA, expense reimbursement, all in accordance with city, county, state, and federal regulations and compliance requirements; (3) Being the HR “face and voice” to the organizational community while assisting reporting staff with delegated tasks and initiatives; (4) Working closely with benefit providers and vendors with regard to health, medical, dental, employee wellness, retirement, etc.; (5) Leading and conducting special projects and initiatives as needed as it relates to human resources policies, procedures, processes, HRIS systems, unions, and leading ad hoc reporting to the board and executive leaders who are reliant are accurate and timely employee and program reporting data and information; (6) Overseeing all aspects of payroll including new hires, terminations, retirees, promotions, etc.; (7) Oversight of all wage, salary, payroll deductions, and other calculations to ensure accuracy; (8) Oversight of all contracts, collective bargaining agreements (CBA), pay ordinances, administrative guidelines, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and city, county, state, and federal regulations and compliance requirements; (9) Benefits administration and oversight; (10) Maintaining accurate benefit calculations and accruals; (11) Serving as COBRA administrator and managing all insurance and liability policies and administration; (12) Reviewing all vendor and provider invoices and amounts charged for accuracy and payment; (13) Communicating all benefits and coverage information to the employee population and working through discrepancies with vendors and providers as well as employees; (14) Leading all corporate and HR personnel policies and guidelines including grievances and employee disciplinary issues; (15) Leading new employee orientation and education and leading organizational hiring activities; (16) Oversight of all company internal and external events and activities.
Required:
An undergraduate degree is a mandatory requirement (BS, BA, BBA, etc.).
Must have strong experience as a formal HR leader with supervisory experience in a small HR department where you are leader and supervisor but also very hands-on in all Human Resource areas.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of strong HR generalist skills and experience including strong direct interaction from a HR perspective with employees, as an HR leader with supervisory experience.
Must have strong skill and experience in managing all aspects of HR for an employee population of 50/150/300+ or more employees.
Must have strong skills and experience for working with compensation and benefits providers and vendors and managing compensation and benefits as a HR generalist supervisor or HR manager.
Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Must have strong skill and experience in planning, managing, organizing, and in leading with a strong skill in diplomacy, negotiation, mediation, and persuasion.
Must be flexible, able to change direction quickly, with strong diplomacy.
