We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area to join our team (some training will be in the office, fully remote after training).
Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger and underlying accounting records.
- Manage and provide assistance for the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of:
- Client and subcontractor contracts administration.
- AR function including invoicing and collections, overseeing accounts receivable and performing collections.
- AP function including processing vendor invoices, overseeing accounts payable and managing cash flow.
- · Prepare, improve and issue:
- Monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings (sales tax returns, 1099s, GSA reports but excluding income tax returns).
- Ad hoc other business planning and tax reports.
- A documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, employees and bank personnel in a professional manner.
- Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
- Perform other office and financial duties as reasonably requested.
Qualifications
- Four-year Accounting or Business Degree.
Experience
- At least five years of accounting & bookkeeping progressive experience.
Skills
- Fully functional with all aspects of a financial accounting software system (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
- Excellent knowledge of financial accounting principles and concepts.
- Exceptional people and communication skills.
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills and other computer skills.
- Proven ability to communicate clear accountabilities and manage performance.
- Creative problem solver, independent worker, self-starter.
- Positive, organized, accurate, efficient, tenacious orientation to task completion and meeting deadlines.
