About the Role

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of EHS & Compliance, you will collaborate with DC leadership and employees to enforce safety policies, conduct inspections, facilitate training, and define our organization's safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Enforcement: Assist in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating workplace safety policies to ensure a safe environment for employees, visitors, vendors, and guests.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple, complex safety projects from conception to implementation.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform work task risk assessments and develop safety standards in conjunction with associates.
  • Ergonomic Assessment: Complete ergonomic assessments on job tasks and incorporate findings into standard work procedures.
  • Safety Strategies: Create, support, and implement strategies to improve safety compliance.
  • Emergency Coordination: Coordinate with external emergency agencies (Fire, Police, Sheriff, OSHA) and act as the Emergency Response leader during chemical spills, fires, serious injuries, and other emergencies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Act as the point of contact and lead efforts during regulatory visits (OSHA, Fire Marshal).
  • Safety Programs: Evaluate jobs and build out Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) programs. Chair the site Safety Committee.

Physical Demands

  • Constant: Walking
  • Frequent: Sitting, standing, reaching above shoulder heights and below the waist
  • Occasional: Lifting items up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders

Work Environment

  • Warehouse Areas: Exposure to non-climate-controlled areas requiring personal protective equipment (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses).
  • Flexible Schedule: Ability to work weekends, nights, and/or holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Business, Risk Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years in Supply Chain EHS.
    • Knowledge of accident prevention, safety, and OSHA requirements.
    • Preferred: Knowledge of ergonomic fundamentals.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
  • Certifications:
    • Preferred: OSHA 30, AED & CPR Certified.
  • Travel:
    • No travel requirements.
