As a Process Improvement Supervisor, you'll play a key role in enhancing our distribution center (DC) operations, making them more streamlined, cost-effective, and high-quality.

Role Overview

As a Process Improvement Supervisor, you will oversee essential business systems and discover ways to make them more efficient. Your objective assessments will provide actionable insights to refine all aspects of the business. You'll be a problem solver who interprets data and delivers meaningful results that drive productivity and efficiency, making DC processes easier, faster, and more affordable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Analysis: Examine company processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Change Champion: Lead initiatives to foster an organizational mindset focused on process improvement, ownership, and accountability.
  • Lean Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and lead practitioner to implement continuous improvement based on Lean practices.
  • Tool Implementation: Equip your DC with Lean Six Sigma and operational excellence tools to optimize processes, methodologies, and technology performance.
  • Strategy Development: Formulate process enhancement strategies and develop plans to improve quality, cycle time, and cost.
  • Issue Investigation: Investigate shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes.
  • Standard Establishment: Establish norms and standards for company performance.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with management to share ideas and strategies for improvement.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports with KPI metrics demonstrating operational impact.
  • Presentation: Develop presentations to facilitate discussions on projects or program progress and results.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with developments in management and process optimization.
  • Operational Analysis: Perform operational analyses, including risk assessments, mapping, redesign, simulation, root cause analyses, and time-motion studies.
  • In-Depth Analysis: Conduct data collection, analysis, and synthesis to generate critical insights for projects or Lean deployment strategies.
  • Post-Implementation Review: Complete reviews to ensure successful delivery and identify improvements for future projects.

Education & Training

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business.
  • Certifications: PMP preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of proven continuous improvement and analytical experience, including project management and business analysis. Understanding of Lean Six Sigma fundamentals required.

  • Facilitation & Training: Proven track record in facilitation, public speaking, training, presentation, and communication.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ownership & Results: Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive results.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Change Management: Success in initiating change and influencing at all levels.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management software.

Skills & Abilities

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to handle regular stock lifting or carrying parts more than 60 lbs. up to 25% of the time, with most lifting and carrying involving parts between 5 and 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Setting: Large open environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Activity: High activity with workers and equipment constantly moving, requiring constant adherence to safety procedures and rules.

Equipment

  • Safety Gear: OSHA-approved steel-toed safety shoes required from day one.
