Job Summary:

The Level III Fortinet Specialist is a critical member of our IT and Network Security team, responsible for managing and optimizing Fortinet-based security solutions. This role requires deep expertise in Fortinet products and technologies, with a focus on ensuring robust network security, system integrity, and seamless connectivity across the organization’s infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Fortinet devices, along with a strong understanding of network architecture, security best practices, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fortinet Solutions Management: Deploy, configure, and manage Fortinet devices (such as FortiGate firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, etc.) across multiple environments.
  • Network Security: Design and implement network security strategies to protect against unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats. Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Incident Response: Lead incident response efforts for security breaches, network anomalies, or other critical issues. Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve complex problems.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of Fortinet systems and related network infrastructure. Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of security solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies related to Fortinet devices and security practices. Update and manage change control documentation as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to integrate Fortinet solutions with other technologies and support business objectives.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members and peers. Share knowledge on Fortinet products and network security best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest Fortinet technologies, security trends, and industry best practices. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in security posture and network performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network security, with at least 3 years specializing in Fortinet products.
  • Certifications: Fortinet NSE 4 or higher certification is required; NSE 7 or 8 is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Extensive hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and other Fortinet products.
    • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall concepts.
    • Expertise in VPN technologies, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), antivirus, and web filtering.
    • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
    • Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud security, including integration of Fortinet solutions with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with other security technologies, such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, or Check Point.
  • Experience in a lead or senior role, managing projects or small teams.
