Position Summary:

The Regulatory and Environmental Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all operations and products adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, including ISO 9001, OSHA, EPA, and FDA requirements. This role involves continuous monitoring, documentation, and improvement of the company's Environmental Health and Safety program, as well as liaising with regulatory bodies and internal teams to ensure full compliance.

Essential Duties:

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Review, analyze, and monitor OSHA, RCRA, Homeland Security, Federal & Ohio EPA, DEA and DHS for all applicable regulations to Tedia. This includes ensuring all EPA reporting is completed on time per EPA requirements (TSCA, Toxic Release Inventory, SARA Title III, Air emissions, and stormwater reporting).
  • Monitor changes in regulations and ensure timely updates to company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory documents and reports as required.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Develop, maintain, and update all necessary documentation related to regulatory compliance, including SOPs, manuals, and training materials.
  • Generate reports on compliance status, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records for all regulatory inspections and audits.

Training and Education:

  • Conduct training sessions for staff on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and share knowledge with relevant teams.

Risk Management:

  • Identify compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Liaison with Regulatory bodies and third-party vendors assisting Tedia in reporting requirements
  • Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate communication between the company and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and address any issues that arise.

Success Criteria:

  • 0 Late regulatory report filings
  • 0 Regulatory findings against Tedia from applicable agencies

Supervisory Responsibility:

N/A

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Regulatory Affairs)
  • Regulatory knowledge/familiarity with OSHA, RCRA, Homeland Security, EPA Risk Management Plan, TSCA, SARA Title III, and applicable reports such as Toxic Release Inventory, Plant Emissions, etc.
  • 3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within the chemical manufacturing industry Fluent with Microsoft Office apps such as Outlook, Word, Excel

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
