Responsibilities:
- Work to convert, refresh, and format to/from various formats
- Generate/revise Table of Authorities and Table of Contents
- Using a variety of software applications, perform data entry tasks
- Transcribing digital or analog dictation files
- Recover/recondition corrupted files as needed
- Troubleshooting application queries by telephone using the help desk
- Complete all assignments on time and in an accurate manner by the deadline
- Manage sensitive, confidential, or proprietary documents and information
- Always follow company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as necessary
Required Experience:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree or 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Proficient in handling complex markups and instructions pertaining to legal documents in a timely and accurate manner
- An added advantage of having experience and exposure in any of the following legal word processing tasks would be: Developing TOAs and TOCs, inserting cross references using automatic software, converting PDFs to Word using a variety of software, applying Word styles using macros, troubleshooting problem documents including redlines and documents containing multiple numbering schemes, style separators, cross references, and other automated fields.
- Prioritizing various requests and deadlines at the same time is essential
- Superb verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of networking with clients and team members in a professional and respectful manner at all times
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
- Minimum keying speed of 60 wpm with 95% accuracy
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required
- Familiarity of legal terminology and legal citations preferred
Transcription experience a plus
