About the job

Summary/Objective

The customer service representative (CSR) serves as a liaison between customers and the company. This representative processes orders for products received by e-mail; helps customers by providing product information; and assists customers with account questions, orders, errors and other concerns.

 

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

1. Answer all phone calls and e-mails that come in for customer service and inside sales.

2. Process orders received.

3. Inform customers of unit prices, shipping dates and any other additional information.

4. Follow up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates.

5. Record or file copies of orders received.

6. Enter and send quotations (pro formas) to distributors or representatives in a timely manner.

7. Advise customers if the order is close to a target large order discount or free shipping amount and inquire if they would like to take advantage of the extra discount by adding to the order.

8. Answer questions from customers or individuals on how a product operates or direct them to the person able to assist them.

9. Receive, review and report customers’ complaints, questions or concerns.

10. Resolve product and pricing problems by clarifying customers’ complaints, determining causes of problems, finding solutions, expediting corrections and following up to ensure resolution.

Required Education and Experience Qualifications:

· High school diploma, GED or one to three months’ related experience and/or training required

· Positive and professional demeanor

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to build rapport with clients

· Ability to use Outlook, Excel and basic computer skills

· Ability to prioritize and multitask

Preferred Education and Experience

· College degree or experience preferred

· SAP, SPS or data processing knowledge preferred

· Technical background preferred

· Previous experience in customer service, sales or other related fields
