Job Summary: The Accountant II is responsible for managing and processing invoicing for clients and collecting payments. his role involves preparing invoiced, billing, payments and maintaining financial records, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Accountant II plays a crucial role in the financial health of the organization by providing accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Processing: Prepare weekly scheduled tasks for billing clients and paying care providers.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger spreadsheet, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual performance against the budget.
  • Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant laws, and accounting standards. Prepare for and coordinate external and internal audits.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Special Projects: Participate in or lead special projects as assigned, such as system implementations, process improvements, or financial analysis initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, WellSky is a plus) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Integrity: Strong ethical standards and integrity.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position, typically requiring 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional overtime may be necessary, especially during month-end and year-end close processes.
