The Director of Business Development position is responsible for the sales process with responsibility for identifying and developing new business opportunities, negotiating, and securing pricing agreements, and establishing lasting industry partnerships. The Director collaborates closely with team members to design solutions for a remarkable customer experience. This position is charged to hunt new customers, bundle our company's portfolio of products and services, and generate multiple new revenue streams.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage research and lead generation tools to facilitate prospecting efforts for securing new business that aligns with our business model.
  • Develop and manage the sales pipeline required to meet the annual new business and client retention goals.
  • Manage the sales cycle process, including targeting, lead generation, qualification, pricing, proposal, and closure.
  • Present customers with innovative supply chain solutions through a consultative sales approach
  • Make sales calls to meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals.
  • Partner with the operations and account management teams for optimal customer satisfaction
  • Create and maintain comprehensive client SOPs (standard operating procedures) and work closely with operations and customer service teams.
  • Troubleshoot client related issues, resolving them either individually or collectively with the departmental teams.
  • Maintain close customer relations through on-site visits.
  • Consult with potential customers to understand their needs.
  • Develop and enhance marketing material to support sales and branding efforts.

Qualifications and Requirements:

*******   CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PRIOR FREIGHT FORWARDING SALES EXPERIENCE   *********

  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Sales, Transportation or Logistics
  • Have a minimum of five years’ Logistics or Transportation sales experience.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of developing and selling a vertical sales strategy with concentration in an specific industry.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Self-starter with strong organization & presentation skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of consultative sales approach and selling value added services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to multitask.
  • High integrity, team player, collaborative style and results oriented.
