Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a team to ensure customer expectations are met, primarily in the areas of quality, delivery and cost. In addition, this position is responsible to ensure a safe work environment, continuous improvement in all aspects of operations and adherence to our core values. Reporting to this position will be Production Supervision, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Production Control. This position will report to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the CNC machine shop operations including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Monitor and optimize machine utilization, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and quality control standards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and improve manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of machinists, operators, and support staff to achieve production goals and objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend investments in new equipment, technology, and infrastructure to improve efficiency and capacity.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory management to ensure adequate supply of materials and tools to support production schedules.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.
Requirements:
- Highly driven individual with a passion for excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a CNC machining environment, with a strong understanding of machining processes and techniques (preferred).
- Knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, and machining operations is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a team and driving operational excellence.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and practices is a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
