ABOUT THE POSITION:

Based in Le Mars, IA, we're looking for someone with at least three years of experience showcasing high initiative and providing HR support to join our company. This position will report to the Plant Manager in collaboration with the Corporate Director of HR. This dynamic role is responsible for the end-to-end human resources function for our Iowa Facility and supporting the human side of the business strategy If you’re assertive, innovative, and have a true passion for people, this role may be for you. Job Summary:
The HR Coordinator will independently administer HR programs at the Le Mars, Iowa facility. This is a non-exempt position working Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00 PM.


Duties/Responsibilities:


Human Resource Duties

  • Interpret and translate human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
  • Help identify new or replacement positions needed to support assigned business operations, recruit top talent, and fill jobs with them.
  • Onboard new employees and process hiring-related paperwork.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
  • Explain regulations, policies, or procedures.
  • Administer personnel recruitment or hiring activities.
  • Other HR duties as requested.
  • Support the annual Performance Review process
  • Support and help grow diversity and inclusion initiatives/culture
  • Partner with people leaders to ensure individual development and succession plans for key positions and talent
  • Provide on-the-floor training for new employees
  • Develop and update HR policies in partnership with the Americas HR Officer including revising the Employee Handbook as applicable.
  • Participate in assigned HR projects which may include new location openings, hiring events, HR system implementations, and more.
  • Provide HR metric reports and analysis and make data-driven recommendations in partnership with the Americas HR Officer to key stakeholders in the business
  • Build community relations to support recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives
  • Other projects and ad hoc assignments as needed


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • HRIS experience required (e.g. ADP, WorkDay, BambooHR, or other HRIS)
  • Experience guiding difficult performance discussions
  • Must be customer-focused, energetic, enthusiastic, well-planned, and organized
  • Knowledge of US employment laws required; Knowledge and experience with FLSA, EHS, FMLA, OSHA, Work Compensation cases, Unemployment claims, and other HR regulations and processes preferred
  • Must be a US citizen (currently, we do not provide visa sponsor for this role)


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
