Job DescriptionJob Description

Our client in Latham, NY is looking to add a Computer Support Specialist to their team. This is a contract role and is anticipated to last until approximately October 2024 with the possibility of an extension. The approximate hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM. The payrate is $22.00/hour.

Computer Support Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Answer calls and/or respond to emails within our IT Call Center from users regarding technical issues they're experiencing may it be hardware/software.
  • Accurately document all issues and requests during the initial call
  • Analyze user issues and questions. Leverage system knowledge and use knowledge base resources to pinpoint resolution and answers for users.
  • Learn to use Help Desk core tools and software to assist users when needed and obtain a base knowledge in the core products supported by the Help Desk
  • Participate in appropriate training, workgroups and agency meetings
  • 1st Level Support for Help Desk and Security Incidents
  • All other duties as assigned

Computer Support Specialist Qualifications:

  • Strong MS Windows, MS Outlook, and MS Office knowledge particularly in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Prior software experience with Windows 10/11, MS O365, and Adobe
  • Prior hardware experience with Laptops, Printers, and Scanners
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Preferred Level of Education: High School graduate with some college; computer science related degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience working as a computer support specialist
  • Experience working in a government setting.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well individually and as a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
