1. Responsible for the early inclusion of Procurement and suppliers in product development and
manufacturing processes.
2. Be actively involved in product development including product design, process determination,
and material selection to achieve lowest total cost while fulfilling the necessary characteristics.
3. Assess suppliers from a technological/ process standpoint in order to develop low total cost high
quality partners.
4. Assist new product development by qualifying parts and suppliers via statistical analysis, PPAP
process, supplier audits, etc. to assure smooth product launches.
5. Perform value added analysis to identify waste in the supply chain driving cost reductions and
improved supplier performance.
6. Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliance in all procurement transactions.
7. Develop sourcing strategies based on supplier capacity, capabilities, and total cost effectiveness.
8. Develop, implement, and drive procurement strategies in order to achieve cost reduction
targets.
9. Coordinate with suppliers on continuous improvement strategies.
10. Manage supply base to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, quality, and
technical abilities.

4. Understand materials requirements planning (MRP)

7. Skills in Purchasing and Manufacturing and metal workng materials and process
Education/Experience
Education optional. 3/5 years experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to
rubber/rubber chemicals and metalworking processes preferred.
