About Us:

For over 40 years, The FRICKS Company has specialized in the design, construction and finishing of the most durable concrete floor surfaces in the world - extending the life of the floor surface by up to 10 times that of conventional concrete. Our projects range nationwide from distribution, food processing and cold storage facilities.


Position Purpose:

The purchasing agent procures all purchasing activity for the acquisition of materials, equipment, tools, vehicles, and supplies based on project or business need.

This may involve bid analysis, reviewing and auditing equipment. Ensures that company vision, core values, goals, purpose, safety, and culture are being driven, exemplified, shared and taught with consistency

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Purchases material, parts, goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Selecting suppliers that the company will deal with and maintaining any legal interaction
  • Coordinates with project managers, owners and other office staff to maintain inventory levels.
  • Schedule deliveries for material, supplies, rental equipment and subs
  • Maintains open lines of communication with other departments
  • Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
  • Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
  • Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
  • Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
  • Manage and write PO’s for material and supplies
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, i.e. White Cap, MultiQuip, to maintain a high quality of goods and timely delivery
  • Coordinate our equipment deliveries with brokers and truck owners to assure we have equipment on site to start on job as scheduled
  • Continuous field communication as it relates to equipment and/or material deliveries


Required Skills and/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly autonomous, self-directed, organized and detail oriented
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Able to interface and communicate with all levels of employees and management


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field highly preferred.
  • May consider 5 years of relative experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing
