Position Summary:

As the horticulture industry’s leading trade Association, AmericanHort provides programs and resources to help members and the industry Perform Better, Grow Faster and Prepare for the Future. We are seeking a technology savvy, customer-focused professional who is excited to contribute to a member driven organization.

The Systems & Support Specialist will be part of our events and operations team and work with many aspects of member programming, events, and projects. This position will become proficient in many systems across the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong aptitude for data management, strong attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities Include:

·         Membership support: become proficient in all aspects of association management database (YourMembership) to ensure data hygiene and efficient membership renewal.

·         Foundation support: manage newly created Microsoft Access donor database and create donor acknowledgements, thank you letters and other communications/ mailings to donors.

·         Education support: become proficient with Learning Management System (CrowdWisdom) to support member webinars and learning; develop a speaker database.

·         Financial support: ability to learn and manage AR/ AP/ deposit processes for the association, including expense reporting and tracking.

·         Marketing support: learn email marketing, digital marketing, and automation software.

·         Event support: Assist with planning and execution of signature event, Cultivate and other meetings.

·         Customer service: Answer member questions and provide support for member programming.

·         General office duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills/ Knowledge Required:

·         Bachelor’s degree in business related field.

·         3-5 years of relevant experience is desired.

·         General computer and Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills.

·         Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

·         Knowledge of database structure/ management.

·         Excellent customer service skills.

·         Solid organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

·         Ability to balance multiple assignments successfully.

·         Team player and willingness to assist all staff members and membership.

·         Ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and in writing.

·         Experience with association management software.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position. The position reports to the VP, Operations & Finance. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. AmericanHort offers competitive benefits, including paid vacation and sick time, medical, dental and vision insurance, HSA and FSA options, 401K, etc. Some travel is expected.
