About the Position:

As a Community Support Specialist, you will engage with adult individuals facing significant and ongoing mental health challenges, necessitating enhanced oversight and assistance in daily living.

Your role involves daily interactions with clients to offer skill development and personal assistance.

Services provided may encompass essential life skills such as personal hygiene, home management, financial planning, safety protocols, medication oversight, navigating public transport, maintaining a living space, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.

In addition to providing these essential supports, you will observe and assess client behaviors, requirements, advancements, and self-administered medications, documenting their journey, ongoing needs, and the services provided to meet those needs.

As a Community Support Specialist, you will also be responsible for crisis intervention when necessary. This position includes transporting clients locally for medical appointments, shopping trips, and other essential errands using a company vehicle.

Collaboration is key; you will work within a team in a residential environment and participate in monthly staff meetings and supervision sessions with the Residential Program supervisor to foster professional growth.

Do You Meet These Qualifications?

One of the following:
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services discipline (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.) - preferred
Preferred:
1 year of experience in a mental health or substance abuse residential setting
2 years of experience working with psychiatric populations
Valid Georgia Driver's License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR);
Clean Criminal Background Check (no convictions or credible evidence of abuse, neglect, or sexual exploitation)
