ICADV's Training Coordinator carries out essential tasks necessary for the success of ICADV’s trainings hosted for domestic violence advocates and other professionals serving families experiencing domestic violence throughout Illinois - online, in person and virtual. This team member manages support to users of the online training and registration interface, and is responsible for maintaining training records.

Required Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • 3 years experience utilizing Microsoft office applications, most importantly Microsoft Excel, with proficiency

  • 3 years experience coordinating events

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years working in domestic violence agency or other social service organization serving families experiencing domestic violence

  • 3 years experience in the coordination of training activities

  • 3 years experience utilizing online resources for the delivery of training

  • 1 year grant management and/or budget management experience

  • IL Certified Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP)

  • Fluent in languages other than English which could support training efforts

  • Working understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and general service provision for families experiencing DV

  • Working familiarity with generally accepted policies and practices that impact survivors and domestic violence and their children preferred

  • Working familiarity with the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence or similar not-for-profit or membership organization

Job Duties:

  • Support Director of Training in the development, distribution and summary of training needs assessment to ensure trainings meet the current needs of domestic violence services providers

  • Increase accessibility to ICADV trainings by developing strategies for improving procedures and providing technical support for training participants using online platform for training registrations

  • Support Director of Training in development of and review of training curricula as needed

  • Coordinate communications with external expert presenters to ensure proper contractual relationships are established, ensure payments are processed, identify travel arrangement needs for presenters and make them as needed, review presenter materials which will be shared with participants to ensure maximum accessibility, and conduct follow-up activities with presenters such as sending evaluation summaries, ensuring timely invoicing, etc.

  • Coordinate accessibility accommodations (e.g., interpreters, CART services, other special accommodations) for training related events, both online and in person

  • Identify and secure training resources as needed to support domestic violence services agencies in their delivery of quality services to diverse groups of survivors

  • Provide on-site support as needed for virtual and in person trainings, including assisting with setup, tracking attendance, answering logistical questions, and assisting presenters

  • Determine appropriate audiences for trainings and disseminate communications regarding trainings, including registration emails, evaluation solicitations, training recordings, and other various training materials

  • Support Director of Training in the training budget management as needed

  • Execute other duties as assigned

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and general public.
  • Must be willing to work harmoniously and effectively with other personnel, as well as be willing to communicate with members and other partners based at whatever behavior or acuity level they are currently functioning.
  • Appropriate conflict resolution methods which lead to positive solutions
  • Ability to exercise ethical communication strategies which leads to strong team building, cooperation and execution of ICADV goals

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse groups, internal and external
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills at the highest level to effectively carry out collaborative efforts necessary for the success of the position
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relations with a diversity of individuals, organizations and government agency that supports effective negotiation and networking necessary for advocacy with internal and external stakeholders

Software:

  • Experience creating and managing users and user permissions in Office 365
  • Experience utilizing and configuring Microsoft Teams for internal communications and video conferencing
  • Experience managing Microsoft Teams Voice a plus
  • Experience integrating and utilizing multiple online platform solutions for internal procedural efficiencies
  • MS Word or comparable word processing application
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Windows operating systems

Work environment:

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, non-smoking, feminist-centered environment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to regularly work off site as needed.

  • Occasional Travel in State of Illinois, with overnight stays
