We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Arlington. The primary responsibility of the Quality Engineer is to ensure that all electronic products and components meet the highest quality standards. This position requires strong electronic hardware technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate findings with the customer.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and minimize customer returns by interacting with customers to assist in resolving their issues and sharing findings to avoid future issues.
  • Perform thorough inspections of electronic products, components, and assemblies to identify failure modes and root causes.
  • Conduct various tests and measurements using specialized equipment and tools to verify the performance, functionality, and reliability of electronic devices.
  • Document and report test results, defects, and non-conformances accurately and promptly, utilizing appropriate quality control systems and databases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and production staff, to address and resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, work instructions, and inspection guidelines to ensure consistent and efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality failures, implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Support the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of measurements.
  • Train and educate production personnel on quality control techniques, procedures, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements in electronic manufacturing to enhance the quality control processes.
  • Other quality-related duties as typically assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent electronics experience.
  • 5+ years of broad engineering development experiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic components, circuits, and assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with quality control methodologies, tools, and statistical techniques.
  • Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Must be able to leverage engineering skills to identify exactly how designs may fail, then counteract with product improvements.
  • Ability to read/write schematics and specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent writing skills as needed for customer communications.
  • Superior attention to details.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Bonus points for Green-Belt Quality certification.
