Position Overview

As a Quality Assurance Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role within a rapidly expanding and successful organization, collaborating closely with skilled and motivated engineers to tackle challenges as a cohesive unit. The unique product opportunities, contemporary business inquiries, and complex datasets present distinct challenges that we are eager to address. Mastercard's Data & Services platform integrates top-tier analytics, advanced software frameworks, and the latest web technologies to confront these challenges. Our software is essential for accurately interpreting analytically intricate insights that inform multi-million-dollar business decisions.

As a member of the SpendingPulse team, you will apply your testing expertise to enhance the quality of the Market Insights application, delivering economic insights across various regions to our clients. We utilize state-of-the-art web technologies and analyze extensive datasets using Big Data methodologies within a Hadoop ecosystem to develop a scalable, high-performance platform. We seek an innovative software quality engineer capable of designing and executing test plans for key full-stack features and our data pipeline, thriving in a dynamic, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate large, intricate features utilized by some of the world's leading organizations for critical decision-making.
  • Ensure accuracy in calculations across all scenarios.
  • Oversee and coordinate extensive testing and release initiatives with continuous delivery.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated testing frameworks.

  • Take ownership of the quality of data pipelines responsible for generating millions of analytical results.

  • Work with Product Managers and Customer Experience Designers to gain a comprehensive understanding of users and use cases, applying that knowledge to test new features.
  • Ensure timely release of new features and data that numerous clients rely on weekly.
  • Drive enhancements to team and testing methodologies.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, Test Automation Engineer, Developer, or related role, utilizing software QA tools and processes.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Experience with various testing methodologies such as UI testing, automated testing, and test-driven development strategies.
  • Proficiency in agile frameworks, unit testing libraries/frameworks (preferably .Net Framework), UI Automation Tools (Cypress), code management tools (Git), and deployment tools (Jenkins).
  • Excellent SQL skills for working with large and complex data sources, including the ability to comprehend and write intricate queries.
  • Highly motivated professional with exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to independently develop and execute test plans encompassing manual, automated, unit, and performance testing.
  • Strong technologist eager to explore new testing tools and technologies.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and a desire to excel in small project teams.
  • Strong prioritization skills and effective time management.
