Adjunct Instructor

The Adjunct Instructor will deliver vocational readiness training and support services to high school students with disabilities in Chatham, Effingham, Bulloch, and surrounding counties, preparing them for successful transition from school to post-secondary education, training, and employment. This role involves providing hands-on instruction, guidance, and mentorship to students to help them develop essential job readiness skills and explore career pathways.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Work with supervisor to coordinate student Authorizations from Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency and school scheduling needs.
- Deliver engaging and interactive vocational readiness training sessions to high school students covering topics such as job exploration, workplace readiness, self-advocacy, and independent living skills.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including classroom instruction, group activities, role-playing exercises, and hands-on learning experiences, to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them identify their interests, strengths, and career goals, and develop personalized transition plans.
- Conduct career assessments, interest inventories, and job shadowing experiences to help students explore various career pathways and make informed decisions about their future.
- Provide job coaching and skill development support to students, assisting them with resume writing, job applications, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette.
- Collaborate with employers and community partners to identify tour opportunities and facilitate work-based learning experiences.
- Work collaboratively with school personnel to develop and implement comprehensive transition plans for students with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, participation, and outcomes in accordance with program requirements and regulatory standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a vocational or transition services setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, parents/guardians, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and community partners to support student success.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and current insurance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior work experience in a similar professional environment.
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Working Conditions: Will work indoors and outdoors in various training and enrichment environments.
- Equipment Operation: Will operate an EmployAbility van to transport individuals to and from community partners’ sites. Computer work is required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Effective verbal and auditory communication skills are necessary. Vision must be adequate to operate vehicles and equipment safely.
