Director of Sales – Materials Department

 

Location / Travel
Remote with over 50% travel, both domestic and international. Flexibility in schedule to accommodate travel and customer needs is essential.

 

We have been engaged to find a Director of Sales – Packaging Materials to provide strategic leadership and direction to the sales team, develop systems, and implement goal-oriented business plans that align with our client's overarching goals. This position requires proactive support and collaboration with the sales, customer service, and sales administration teams to foster a customer-focused sales group.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic sales and marketing plans and forecasts to meet corporate objectives.
  • Manage sales/marketing operating budgets and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategies.
  • Ensure effective control of marketing results and oversee market research adjustments based on market and competitive conditions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with international colleagues and industry influencers.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities, represent the organization at trade association meetings, and participate in trade shows.
  • Engage directly with clients, supporting the sales team in maintaining relationships and closing deals.
  • Analyze and control division expenditures to meet budgetary requirements and prepare periodic sales reports.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a technical field with at least five years of related experience.
  • Proven management skills with a track record of effective team and performance management.
  • Highly effective communication skills, adept in negotiation and client management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $160,000 to $175,000, with potential for an annual bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance.
