FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The Field Technician will be on a field services team and is considered a traveling position. This position requires frequent travel within the assigned territories, up to 75%.  The ideal candidate will be able to collect information regarding electrical systems accurately and have extensive knowledge of Arc Flash. 


OBJECTIVES:

•Travel to client sites to gather electrical distribution system information such as wire size, length, circuit breaker settings, fuse information, transformer data, etc.

•Survey facilities for exposure to live conductors.

•Support electrical engineers in power studies of client sites.

•Create field sketches of systems or verify SKM drawings.

•Technical must be comfortable opening electrical equipment.

•Affix safety labels to electrical equipment.


HOW YOU MEET THOSE OBJECTIVES:

•Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or Associate’s degree program in a related discipline from an accredited college, trade school, or university; and three or more years of related work or industry experience.

  • Other equivalent education and experience combinations will be considered with solid evidence of success.

•Experience with arc flash and the use of infrared cameras.

•Experience or knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems.

•Experience or knowledge of NFPA 70E.

•Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 75%, including out-of-town, overnight stays.

•Industrial electrical experience.
