Field Service Technician

As a Field Service Technician at Altorfer, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on customer-owned or Altorfer rental lift trucks, forklifts, and material handlers, as well as Caterpillar and other allied type construction equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional service to customers by performing maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on equipment.
- Assist in determining if equipment needs to be transported to the shop for repairs.
- Establish and maintain service-oriented working relationships with customers.
- Plan and execute the repair of various pieces of rental equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
- Complete service reports and other paperwork before and after repairs are made.
- May perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.
- Stay current with industry standards.
- Successful completion of a formal technical training program or a minimum of 2 years of previous related work experience.
- Previous experience working on electric, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, drivetrain, brake systems, etc., and possess troubleshooting skills.
- Automotive and Industrial Maintenance Technicians are encouraged to apply.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook are required. Knowledge of Cat software is preferred.
- Must be a self-starter, well-organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills are necessary.
- Must be able to safely lift 75lbs, bend, twist, and climb.
- Must possess a Class C or higher commercial driver's license with a clean driving record.
This position will work in the field/shop environment and at customer job sites. May on a continuous basis carry, bend, and lift up to 75lbs. Will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment for a given situation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Travel between locations is required.
