Forge Forward is searching for a Senior Acquisition Specialist to support a client in Lexington Park, MD. Requires 10+ years of relevant experience acquisition experience supporting NAVAIR and/or the U.S. Navy. Position requires an active Secret clearance. To hold a security clearance, you must be a US citizen. Candidates not meeting both of these requirements cannot be considered. This is a hybrid position with approximately 50% of tasking performed at the customer site in Lexington Park, MD.

Position develops acquisition documentation towards milestone requirements for major defense acquisition programs in compliance with DoD and SECNAV 5000 series. This includes, but is not limited to requirements analyses, documentation development, analysis of alternatives and cost-benefit analysis including contract data requirements lists. Assesses existing system processes, practices, methodologies, and documentation for efficiency and effectiveness, proposing improvements and new approaches where prudent. Provides acquisition expertise to coordinate between government acquisition SMEs and IPT engineers, to produce required acquisition documentation.

Functional Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Experience developing DoD and SECNAV 5000 series acquisition documentation.
  • Experience supporting ACAT programs and Rapid Prototyping Planning.
  • Experience leading requirements analysis and conducting business case analyses.
  • Experience evaluating technical alternatives, documenting approaches, and providing recommendations.
  • Experience developing and presenting decision briefs for senior and executive management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant acquisition experience.
  • US citizen with active Secret clearance.
  • Masters in Business, Management or any analytical discipline is preferred.
    (Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of experience may be substituted.)

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience supporting NAVAIR or the Navy.
  • Experience presenting to and collaborating with mid-level and/or senior military and civilian leadership.
  • Strong communication skills including listening, verbal and written.
  • DAU class certifications in Acquisition and PMP are preferred.
