Purchasing and Support Specialist

Perform a variety of office support functions including preparing and processing purchase orders for the company relating to raw materials, tooling and other supplies used in our company.  Interaction with suppliers to obtain pricing, delivery and product specifications.

Ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule to ensure operational and production continuity.

Direct support to Cost Estimating department by processing customer quote requests for Lathom Pin division.

 

Responsibilities

  • Purchase and expedites raw material according to customer order specifications and blueprint
  • Purchase tooling and other supplies
  • Verify order acknowledgements and pricing with vendors
  • Receive all material purchases into Epicor system
  • Ensures materials meet customer specifications, quality standards, material certifications.
  • Maintain relationships and negotiate price and terms with suppliers
  • Track status of orders
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Direct support to Cost Estimating by preparing customer RFQ for Lathom Division

 

Requirements

  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with the purchase of raw material and components
  • Knowledge of basic blueprint reading required
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem-solver
  • Strong communication and computer skills
